Washington DC Archdiocese Settles With Clergy-Abuse Victims
The Archdiocese of Washington DC has agreedto pay one-point-three million dollars to 16 men who say they were sexually abused by priests as far back as 1962.
An attorney representing the group says they're in "severe distress,emotionally, psychologically, financially and spiritually" and felt nowwas a good time to settle.
The allegations stem from eventsthat occurred between 1962 and 1982. Two of the men who are receivingsettlement money had already lost legal claims against the archdiocese.
Eight priests were involved in the allegations. They've all been removed from ministry.
