Forum for abuse victims

A WEBSITE has been set up to help victims of pedophile priests such as Gerald Ridsdale, to seek justice.
The website Think for Yourself Question Authority has been established as a way for victims, who are often isolated, to work together.
One of the founders, John Brown, was abused by former priest Kevin O'Donnell in central Victoria.
He said the website aimed to lobby for justice from thechurch.
``We find there are plenty of sites where victims can go for support on their abuse and we are not qualified for that,'' Mr Brown said.
``We're about obtaining justice for victims as a group and that's the thing that has destroyed and further damaged these people.''
The website also gives victims the chance to tell their stories and to talk to other victims.
Mr Brown said one of the site's aims was to lobby to changelegislation that meant the church was exempt from the law andcouldn't be taken to court.
He said this legislation would stand in the way of some of Ridsdale's victims who recently said they planned to start a class-action lawsuit against the church.
